Flip-Top Dispensers
Hinged lid that opens and closes repeatedly. Good for products accessed multiple times per day. Often includes a dust flap to protect contents.

Slot Dispensers
A slot in the box surface through which items are pulled. Best for flat products like cards, sheets, and packets. Slot sizing is critical for smooth dispensing.

Material Considerations
Dispenser boxes need materials that withstand repeated use:
- 350-450 GSM SBS: Standard for tissue boxes and light-use dispensers
- 450-600 GSM paperboard: Heavier duty for repeated open/close
- Coated surfaces: Resist moisture and stains for bathroom/kitchen use
- Reinforced edges: Where repeated flexing occurs (flip-tops)
Opening Design Details
The opening is where dispenser boxes succeed or fail. Considerations include:
Opening size: Too small and product tears. Too large and multiple items come out. We prototype to find the right balance for your specific product.
Opening shape: Oval, rectangle, custom die-cut. Shape affects grip and pull angle.
Film/membrane: Plastic film over opening (peel-off or permanent with slit) for moisture protection on wet wipes and similar products.
Dust flaps: Interior flaps that close over opening to protect contents from dust and debris.
Functional Testing
Before production, we test dispenser prototypes with your actual product:
- Does one item come out at a time?
- Does the next item present properly?
- Does the mechanism work through the entire contents?
- Does the box maintain structure after many uses?
