Box Styles for Different Needs
We offer two main construction types:

Standard Configurations
Choose capacity based on your typical order sizes:
- 3-macaron box: 5x2x2 inches, sampling or favor size
- 6-macaron box: 7x3x2 inches, most popular for individual purchases
- 12-macaron box: 9x6x2 inches, gift box or dozen orders
- 18-macaron box: 11x7x2 inches, requires divided insert for two rows
- 24-macaron box: 13x9x2 inches, large gift presentations
All dimensions accommodate standard French macarons (1.5-inch diameter, 1-inch height including filling).
Cavity Insert Design
Inserts prevent macarons from touching each other and sliding during delivery. Two insert types available:
- Molded PET plastic: clear material, shows macaron colors, dishwasher-safe for customer reuse, $0.35 per insert
- Vacuum-formed pulp: eco-friendly, biodegradable, natural brown color, $0.28 per insert
Each cavity is sized to 1.6 inches diameter with 0.8-inch depth. Macarons sit snugly without compression. Inserts nest into the box base with tabs that lock into pre-scored slots.
Window and Display Options
Clear windows let customers see your macaron colors and choose flavors visually. Window styles include:
- Full lid window: entire top surface is clear PET, maximum visibility
- Framed window: printed border around clear center panel, adds brand space
- Individual cavity windows: separate windows over each macaron, premium look
Windows use food-safe PET film at 12mil thickness. Anti-fog coating prevents condensation that can damage macaron shells.
Material and Finish Choices
Standard boxes use 18pt SBS paperboard with your choice of:
- Gloss UV coating: high shine, luxurious appearance, fingerprint-resistant
- Soft-touch coating: velvety texture, premium feel, popular for gift boxes
- Foil stamping: metallic gold, silver, or rose gold accents, $0.45 per box

Kraft paperboard offers a natural, rustic alternative to white SBS at the same price. Prints with more muted colors that suit organic or artisan branding.
Rigid Box Upgrades
For luxury presentation, rigid setup boxes feature:
- 2mm chipboard wrapped in printed paper
- Magnetic closure flaps for secure, reusable opening
- Ribbon pulls or satin bows
- Interior printed lining with flavor descriptions
Rigid boxes start at $3.80 each for 6-macaron size at 250-unit minimum. Production time extends to 25-30 days due to hand-assembly requirements.
Pricing Breakdown
Costs for 6-macaron folding carton box with window and insert:

Add $0.35 for soft-touch coating, $0.45 for foil stamping, or $0.35 for embossing. Setup fee is $280 one-time per design.
Production and Delivery
Folding carton timeline: 15-20 days standard, 7-10 days express (add 30%), 45-50 days cost saver. Rigid boxes require 25-30 days minimum due to construction complexity.
Design Specifications
Provide print files in PDF format with 0.125-inch bleed. Include spot color callouts for Pantone matching. We supply dieline templates with cavity insert placement guides after you confirm dimensions.
Storage and Handling
Store boxes flat in original cartons. Assemble just before filling to prevent dust accumulation. Boxes hold structural integrity for 24 months when stored properly in climate-controlled conditions.
