• Moisture barrier: prevents bars from drying out or absorbing humidity, included
• Oxygen barrier: slows oxidation that causes stale taste, add $0.06 per box
• Fat barrier: prevents oil migration from protein bars into packaging, add $0.08 per box
• Foil laminate: maximum barrier for 18+ month shelf life, add $0.22 per box

Oxygen and fat barriers are recommended for bars with chocolate coatings or high fat content (over 5 grams per bar).

Bar Retention and Division

Keep bars organized and prevent damage during transport:

• No insert: bars loose in box, lowest cost, works for shelf display
• Paperboard dividers: scored partitions separate bars, $0.08 per insert
• Corrugated partition: stronger separation for shipping, $0.15 per insert
• Pillow pouch: each bar in individual wrapper inside box, $0.12 per bar

For e-commerce shipping, corrugated partitions prevent bars from shifting and breaking. Retail shelf display works fine with dividers or no insertion.

Storage and Shelf Life

Store boxes flat in cool, dry environment. Barrier coatings maintain effectiveness for 18 months. Fill boxes within 6 months of delivery for optimal shelf life.

Minimum Order Quantities

Standard boxes: 250 units. Custom sizes: 500 units. Reorders drop to 100 units when using existing dies.

Custom Bar Sizes

For non-standard bar dimensions, provide length, width, and thickness. Custom sizing requires $180 die creation fee and 500-unit minimum.
