A PR box can include custom printed presentation packaging, sourced merchandise, a press note, kitting, assembly, and recipient shipping. Teal uses a 50-unit MOQ for most custom packaging and a 100-unit MOQ for sourced merchandise. The quote confirms the box fit, insert order, artwork, recipient file, free dieline, digital proof, and planning range before production.

Updated August 23, 2026 · Teal Packaging operates a US facility in West Chicago, Illinois.
A PR box is a controlled shipment for a press or campaign recipient. The package needs to protect its contents, present the approved message, and arrive during the intended release window. A custom printed box can give the shipment a defined opening order. An insert can identify the product or explain the package. Sourced merchandise can be added when it fits the brief and quote.
Teal manufactures custom-printed presentation packaging. Teal sources merchandise when the selected items are part of the approved scope. Teal's West Chicago operation handles kitting, assembly, pick-pack, and ship-to-recipient work when quoted. A press box request should identify each responsibility rather than assuming that a printer or a fulfillment provider owns the full process.

Build the PR box around the recipient
Define what the recipient should see first. A press note may sit on top of the product. A card may explain a product detail. A divider may protect several contents. A sleeve may carry the campaign identity while the inner package holds the selected item. The format depends on the actual contents, the message, the recipient count, and the target arrival date.
- Custom printed mailer, folding carton, rigid box, sleeve, or insert.
- Selected product and sourced merchandise confirmed in the quote.
- Press note, product card, instruction, or approved campaign copy.
- Protective packing and an assembly order that keeps the shipment stable.
- Kitting, assembly, pick-pack, and ship-to-recipient work for the approved recipient file.
Press boxes can use one standard version or several controlled versions. Each version needs a quantity, item list, package, insert, and packing instruction. Provide those details before the package proof is approved. If the message or product changes later, the package fit, assembly work, and schedule may change.
Teal's role in packaging and merchandise
Teal manufactures the custom-printed box and related packaging. Teal sources merchandise such as tumblers, hoodies, water bottles, and basics when the campaign selects them. Teal does not claim to manufacture those items. The quote confirms the sourced item, decoration, color, size mix, dimensions, availability, and timing.
Print shops do not fulfill and 3PLs do not print. Teal does both for the scope that is quoted. That means a press team can ask for custom packaging, selected merchandise, kitting, assembly, pick-pack, and recipient shipping in the same brief. The quote still separates what Teal manufactures, what it sources, and what it handles in the West Chicago operation.
Approve the presentation proof
Teal provides a free dieline and a digital proof for custom packaging. Review the logo, colors, copy, panel order, print area, closure, insert position, and item fit. Check the opening sequence from the recipient's perspective. If the press note must be read first, state its position. If a product needs a tray, divider, wrap, or fixed orientation, include that requirement in the package brief.
A sample kit priced at $19.99 is available and is credited toward the first order. It can help a buyer review the physical package before a larger run. The final artwork, contents, packing order, and delivery plan still require approval. A sample does not confirm the availability or schedule of an item that was not included in the quote.
Per-client curation and recurring press programs
Teal curates PR boxes per client and per campaign. The client supplies the recipient group, message, product direction, brand files, quantity, package preference, target arrival date, and shipping rules. Teal uses those requirements to quote the presentation packaging, source selected merchandise, and define the assembly and shipping work.
A recurring press program may use approved artwork and a new recipient file. A product launch may use a new package and a new product. A seasonal campaign may need a hold date and a release date. Identify the stable decisions and the fields that change. This gives the quote a clear operating boundary.
Teal can also build a custom-built branded store service for a client that needs recurring approved merchandise and packaging. It is a quote-led, custom-built service. It is not a self-serve platform and it is not a per-employee ordering platform available today. The service includes only the products, package versions, approvals, kitting, and shipping work defined in the quote.
MOQ and price reference
Most custom packaging starts at a 50-unit MOQ. Specialty packaging and specialty items may use 100 or more. Sourced merchandise uses a 100-unit MOQ, including sourced tumblers, hoodies, water bottles, and basics when selected for the press box. Ask Teal to state the MOQ by packaging component and sourced item so the campaign quantity is planned correctly.
Qualifying custom packaging may start from about $0.44 per unit at volume. This reference does not price sourced merchandise, kitting, assembly, pick-pack, recipient shipping, specialty construction, or every press box configuration. Free US shipping, a free dieline, a digital proof, and the $19.99 sample kit credit are part of the offer, with the quote defining the exact scope.
Teal is a US manufacturer with production facilities in West Chicago, Illinois and Guangzhou. Per-job routing determines the production path. This footprint does not promise that a specific PR box will be produced in the United States.
Schedule a press shipment
Eligible in-house work may run in about 7 business days; specialty imported work may take about 12 weeks. These are planning ranges, not guarantees. The full schedule can include sourcing, artwork review, proof approval, package production, kitting, assembly, address preparation, pick-pack, and shipment. Rush work may carry a 7-25% premium depending on the job. The quote states the rush amount and covered work.
Give Teal the target arrival date, campaign release date, recipient count, address count, destination countries, version quantities, and any date when the recipient file will be released. Individual shipments need a different plan from one carton delivered to an office. State whether the package should be held until a campaign date.
PR box brief checklist
- Define the campaign, recipient group, product direction, package quantity, target arrival date, and release date.
- List the box format, dimensions if known, logo files, colors, panel copy, insert, closure, and opening order.
- List the selected merchandise, decoration, color, size mix, product dimensions, and protective packing need.
- Ask for separate quote lines for packaging, sourced merchandise, kitting, assembly, pick-pack, shipping, MOQ, and timing.
- Approve the free dieline, digital proof, sample option, final contents, packing order, and recipient file before release.
If a product can scratch, spill, bend, or move, include a specific protection instruction. If the press note has multiple versions, label each version and quantity. If a merchandise choice is still open, give a use case and budget direction instead of treating a potential item as approved stock.
Release the press box
A PR box is ready to release when the package, contents, artwork, insert, assembly order, recipient file, and target date have an approved scope. Teal can then manufacture the custom-printed presentation packaging, source the selected merchandise, and perform the quoted kitting, pick-pack, assembly, and shipping work. Send the press shipment brief to request a quote.
