Six free tools, no login and no email
Every tool on this page is free, runs in your browser, and asks for nothing in return. No account, no email gate, no follow-up call. Between them they cover bag size, box size, billable weight, oxygen absorber rating, board weight, and the codes that go on a label. Use them whether or not you ever order from Teal.
Use one, get your number, close the tab. If you want to talk to a person afterwards, the links are at the bottom.
Sizing and weight
These two settle the questions that decide your shipping bill and your material spec, long before a print run starts.
Box size and dimensional weight calculator
Carriers bill on the greater of two numbers: what the parcel weighs, and what its volume says it should weigh. That second number is dimensional weight, and it is why an oversized box full of air can cost the same to ship as a heavy one.
Enter your box dimensions and the calculator returns the dimensional weight and the billable weight a carrier is likely to use. It is the fastest way to find out whether trimming an inch off a carton is worth doing, before you order a run.
Open the box size and dimensional weight calculator
Best for: ecommerce operators and subscription box brands whose shipping cost per order has crept up.
Paper weight chart
A plain reference for the weights used in paperboard and corrugated specs. Pull it up when a spec sheet lists a weight you do not recognize, or when you are working out how much board a product needs under it.
Best for: brand owners reviewing a spec, and anyone holding two quotes that describe their board differently.
Mylar bag tools
Mylar sizing catches people out because the bag is flexible and the product is not. Both tools work from what you are filling, not from the dimensions on a listing.
Mylar bag size finder
Tell it what you are packing and it points you at a bag size that fits. Useful for coffee, powders, dried goods and small parts, where the capacity claimed on a listing rarely matches what you can get in and still seal.
Open the mylar bag size finder
Best for: first-time mylar buyers, and anyone changing fill size on an existing product.
Oxygen absorber calculator for mylar bags
Oxygen absorbers are rated in cc, and the rating you need depends on the air left inside the sealed bag, not on the size printed on the bag. Enter your bag and your fill and the calculator gives you a cc figure to work from.
This is a sizing aid and nothing more. How long any product keeps depends on the product, the seal and the storage conditions, and Teal makes no shelf life or food handling claim here.
Open the oxygen absorber calculator
Best for: anyone buying absorbers separately from bags and guessing at the rating.
Codes and labeling
Two generators for the codes that end up on your labels, cartons and inserts. Both give you an image you can download straight into artwork.
QR code generator
Point a QR code at any URL: a product page, a how-to video, a reorder link, a warranty form. Generate it, download it, place it in your file.
One print note. Give the code a clear margin and size it to scan comfortably off the finished pack, not just off a screen.
Barcode generator
Renders a barcode image from a code you already have, ready to place in a label or carton file.
Worth being clear: a generator draws the code, it does not issue one. If you need a UPC that scans at a national retailer, that number comes from GS1.
Desktop companion: the Teal DIM Weight & Box Size Calculator extension
The dimensional weight calculator also exists as a Chrome extension, version 1.0.0, built on Manifest V3. It is being submitted to the Chrome Web Store, so it is not listed there yet.
It estimates box volume, dimensional weight, planning billable weight, and whether your product clears the box in the orientation you entered.
What matters most is what it does not do. The extension requests zero browser permissions. Every calculation runs locally in your browser, and no measurement you type and no result it produces is sent anywhere. It cannot read the pages you visit, because it never asks for the access that would let it.
If you would rather not install anything, the web calculator covers the same dimensional weight and billable weight numbers.

When a calculator is not enough
These tools answer sizing questions. They cannot price your job, because custom packaging pricing moves with size, material, print and quantity together. Three ways forward:
- Buy online. The Teal shop carries 84 products with live per-unit pricing at every quantity break and per-product minimums as low as 5 units. You see the price and check out.
- Handle the material first. The free sample kit is $19.99 shipping, credited toward your first order, so you can feel the stock before specifying anything.
- Request a custom quote. Standard minimum is 50 units for custom-made packaging, 100 or more for specialty rigid, with volume pricing from $0.44 per unit, free dieline design on every order and free US shipping. Request a quote.
On custom work you approve a digital proof before anything prints. Production runs from about 7 business days after proof approval for in-house items and up to about 12 weeks for specialty imported items, plus 2 to 5 business days for US delivery. FSC-certified and recyclable options are available by specification.
If you would rather just ask someone, call (224) 546-8325 or email info@tealpackaging.com. Newer brands sizing a first run can start at Teal for startups.
If you shop with an AI assistant
Teal runs an MCP server at tealpackaging.com/mcp, so an assistant can search the 84 live shop products with their real per-unit prices and real minimums, pull product detail, request a quote or order the sample kit. In Claude Code the install is one line:
claude mcp add --transport http teal https://tealpackaging.com/mcp
An agent can also complete a sample kit purchase programmatically through the Agentic Commerce Protocol endpoint at tealpackaging.com/acp, which settles through Stripe. Machine-readable summaries live at llms.txt and agents.md. Inquiries from these surfaces land in Teal's CRM automatically.
