A peptide vial shipping box has one job: move a set of small glass vials from your packing bench to the recipient without the vials touching each other, tipping over, or arriving loose in the parcel. That is a packaging problem, and it breaks into four layers. An insert holds each vial in its own cavity. A printed carton wraps the insert and carries your artwork. A cold-pack cavity or an insulated outer goes in when the shipment travels with a coolant pack. A corrugated shipping outer takes the carrier handling. Vial-count configurations: 5, 10 and 20 vials
Most peptide brands ship in one of three counts, and the insert layout follows the count. A 5-vial insert usually sits in a single row inside a slim tuck carton, which suits sample sets and small research orders. A 10-vial insert is typically a two-by-five grid in a square-format carton, and it is the configuration Teal quotes most often for peptide brands. A 20-vial insert is laid out as four rows of five or two rows of ten, and at that count the box is usually a rigid or heavier paperboard structure so the corners hold up in transit.
Send the vial count you actually ship rather than the count you might ship later. A 10-vial insert with five empty cavities lets the vials rattle, which is exactly what the insert exists to prevent. If you ship mixed counts, quote two inserts inside one carton size instead of one compromise insert.
2ml, 3ml, 5ml and 10ml vials are the common sizes. Vial dimensions vary by glass supplier and cap style, so send the measured height and diameter of the exact vial you use, cap on, and Teal cuts the insert to that measurement rather than to a nominal size.
Insert options: die-cut paperboard or foam
Die-cut paperboard inserts are the lower-cost option. They are cut from the same 16pt or 18pt SBS board as the carton, fold into a platform with punched holes or slots that hold each vial upright, and print in the same run as the box. They suit 5 and 10 vial layouts where the carton provides the crush protection.
Foam inserts are cut from EVA or PE foam and hold each vial in a snug well with finger clearance for removal. They cost more per unit but grip heavier 10ml vials firmly and pair well with a rigid box for 20-vial sets or presentation-led shipments. Foam thickness and well depth follow your measured vial, and both appear on the proof.
A third option for small runs is a folded paperboard divider grid, which separates vials into cells without a punched platform. It is the simplest tooling and works when the vials stand about as tall as the carton is deep.
Cold-pack cavities and insulated mailer outers
Where a shipment travels with a coolant pack, the insert or carton can be cut with a cold-pack cavity beside or beneath the vial wells. Teal sizes the cavity to the coolant pack you specify, so send its measured dimensions along with the vial spec. The coolant pack itself comes from your packing team.
For the outer, an insulated mailer can be quoted around the finished carton, or the carton can be sized to drop into an insulated mailer you already stock. Tamper-evident closures and label panels
A tamper-evident feature on a vial shipping box is a visual cue that shows whether the secondary package has been opened. The usual options are a tear-strip on the carton tuck, a tamper-evident label across the closure seam, or a printed band around a rigid lid. Each is a packaging feature, not a claim about the contents, and the proof shows exactly where it sits so it never covers a printed panel.
Lot and batch text usually goes on a dedicated flat panel, either printed in the run or left as a clean white area for a label your team applies at packing. Keep that panel away from folds, glue flaps, and the closure seam so the text stays readable after the box is closed.
