Box format changes what a deadline can buy
Every box on this site is made differently, and the manufacturing path is what sets the floor on a schedule. Three broad groups:
- Flat-converted paperboard. Folding cartons are die-cut, creased, folded, and glued on a line and ship flat. They run in white SBS at 14 to 18pt or kraft paperboard at 300 to 400gsm, and a straight tuck end carton with a single accent finish is among the more compressible things we make.
- Corrugated. Shipping boxes and mailer boxes run in E-flute or B-flute. A regular slotted container or a standard die-cut mailer structure schedules readily; a custom structure needing new tooling adds a step.
- Rigid setup. Rigid boxes use chipboard at 1.5 to 2.5mm with a separately printed wrap applied by hand and adhesive that needs set time. This is the format most likely to need the standard window, and we will say so at review rather than after.

What qualifies a box order for the rush window
Rush is not a service level you buy, it is a state your order is in. Four conditions have to be true:
- Print-ready artwork. Vector or high resolution, fonts and colors set, sized to a dieline.
- Clear dimensions and quantity. Length, width, and depth, plus a number at or above the minimum.
- Approved material direction. SBS caliper, kraft gsm, flute profile, or chipboard thickness, decided rather than pending.
- Fast proof approval. The production window starts when you approve the digital proof, not when you place the order.
What works against a rush: a complex structure needing a new die, a stacked finish combination, an unusual material, and very high volume. Any of those can move a job into the standard production window. That is the conversation the rush review exists to have honestly, before you commit money to a date we cannot hold.
Materials and finishes across the box range
Materials: kraft paperboard at 300 to 400gsm, white SBS at 14 to 18pt, corrugated E-flute and B-flute, and rigid chipboard at 1.5 to 2.5mm. We also run mylar, tin, and vinyl on non-box formats, which matters when a rush order pairs a box with a bag or a pouch. FSC-certified and recyclable options are available by specification rather than across every material, so put the requirement in the brief and we will confirm what applies to your job. Inks are soy and water-based.
Finishes: foil stamping, embossing, debossing, spot UV, soft-touch, die-cuts, and windows. Each finish is a separate pass and a separate slot on a schedule. On a compressed timeline the useful mental model is one accent finish, not three. If the finish is the point of the box, that is worth saying at review, because we would rather adjust the date than quietly drop what makes the box work.

- Interior dimensions: length, width, depth.
- Contents and weight, which drives material and structure.

- Your hard date, what it is tied to, and whether it can move by two days if that saves a finish.
